Cornwall Living 2018

Fun for all

This year’s instalment of the fantastic Royal Cornwall Show is promising to be another three-day extravaganza, with fun for all ages!

In the 8th, 9th and 10th June the Royal Cornwall Showground near Wadebridge will play host to a celebration of the very best of Cornish farming, food, drink, shopping, entertainment and fun. It’s an event that really does offer something for everybody across the three days. Indeed, it’s easy to see why 120,000 people attend this fixture in Cornwall’s social calendar!

This year is the 224th year of the Royal Cornwall Show. It’s still very much an agricultural show at heart and remains true to its roots and retains its unique Cornish identity. Of course, while the show is at the heart of the Cornish farming and rural community is also attracts show-goers from all backgrounds. It brings town and country together in one place. Visitors are drawn from across Cornwall, the south west and much further afield, including overseas. Such is its enviable reputation as being one of the best agricultural shows.

There’s a wealth of things to see and do at the show. Literally thousands of animals of all shapes and sizes will congregate in the pursuit of prizes. It’s a showcase for sumptuous Cornish food and drink and a mecca for shoppers with over 1000 trade stands to choose from. There’s also an outstanding flower show, and a steam and vintage vehicle fair crammed full
of exhibits.

A bursting programme of entertainment is found across the showground, with headliners in the main ring creating a buzz. Taking to the main ring this year are the Bolddog Motocross Display Team who can do things with motorbikes you wouldn’t believe, while huge eagles and vultures soar above the crowds in a magnificent bird of prey display!

The RAF Falcons will be dropping into the main ring on all three days and the grand parades of prize-winning livestock and horses, showjumping classes and inter-hunt relay, add to the action.

And if that isn’t enough to tempt you then there are also live music and dance stages, which host a variety of acts with street theatre and roaming musicians popping up in the busy avenues. There’s never a shortage of fun for any age! If you would like to find out more about this fantastic farming event, or if you would like to buy your tickets, then you can head to the Royal Cornwall Show website.
