Delight and surprise for Good Life Joinery after a fabulous string of success.

It’s been a successful 2017 for the Good Life Joinery team and, after working on some very exciting projects, they’ve picked up some welcome recognition. The award, which came from the Local Authority Building Control (LABC), is titled ‘Best Change of Use for an Existing Building’ and was given for Good Life’s work on Hinterland House, a stunning holiday home just 11 miles from Bude, from the Classic Cottages portfolio.

“We’re delighted and totally surprised by the win.”

Managing Director, Stuart Bowman-Harris tells us: “We’re delighted and totally surprised by the win. It’s always a great feeling to get praise for a good piece of work. We were nominated for this award, so it came completely out of the blue. To be shortlisted was amazing, and to actually win was just fantastic!”

Impressively, this coveted award isn’t all the team has to shout about. Earlier this year, apprentice Ash Nightingale came third in the 2017 South West Skill Build competition, an impressive accolade considering this is his first year!

Recently, this accomplished wood working firm also turned its oak framing expertise to making a Giant Story Chair for a local primary school, which has been erected in a conservation area.

“This was great fun to make.” Stuart explains. “It has hand carved, inspirational words on the chair components. Some of them the children have to search for and there are a few surprises too! It’s been a real hit.”

The professional team also designs and makes kitchens, staircases and furniture, as well as windows and doors. So, if your home could do with an update but you’re not sure where to turn; with an impressive 2017 so far, perhaps Good Life Joinery can be of assistance?

“We’re delighted and totally surprised by the win."
