Setting Sail

As summer draws to a close why not keep those warm memories alive with a visit to Newell’s TRAVEL Cruise Show.

Cruising is the ultimate in holiday adventure. Each new day dawns with a different destination but with the advantage of only having to unpack once! If a combination of fine dining, five star accommodation and diverse destinations appeals then make a date in your diary for this year’s cruise show hosted by Newell’s Travel particularly as Oceania Cruises will be in attendance. An often over-looked cruise company, Oceania formed in 2002 and is the flagship when it comes to culinary expertise. Managing Director of Newell’s, Roger Hawke explains: “They budget more per passenger on food than any other cruise ships at sea and are the choice of travellers seeking a truly refined and casually elegant five star travel experience.”

“… more than 400 ports across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and the Americas.”

Featuring a fleet of six luxurious ships, Oceania offers an unrivalled holiday experience renowned for its gourmet culinary programme inspired by Master Chef Jacques Pépin and its array of destination-rich itineraries spanning the globe. Seasoned world travellers are drawn to Oceania Cruises’ diverse voyages, which call on more than 400 ports across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific and the Americas. Spacious and elegant accommodations aboard the 684-guest Regatta, Insignia, Nautica and Sirena and the 1,250-guest Marina and Riviera invite guests to explore the world in unparalleled comfort and style.

Roger and his wife Helen enjoyed a five-day cruise aboard Insignia recently. “Our MS Insignia experience began with a short two-hour flight to Lisbon from Bristol where she was moored very close to the city centre, an obvious advantage of small ship cruising. As we had joined the ship mid-cruise, many of her 684 passengers were ashore so the ship appeared very spacious, but when all her passengers returned the Insignia never seemed crowded. Dining was in the Grand Dining Room, the Polo Grill specialising in steaks or Toscana specialising in Italian cuisine – not forgetting Waves Grill on the Pool Deck, the difficulty is your choice of venue! The atmosphere at dinner was very relaxed; gentlemen wore open necked long sleeve shirts and occasionally a jacket and the ladies were, as always, most elegant,” enthused Roger.

With such high praise we can’t wait to see what Oceania has to offer for the 2017/2018 season and, with Newell’s Travel on hand for expert advice, choosing your next holiday couldn’t be easier. Newell’s is the south west’s leading independent travel agent with 11 branches across Cornwall and Devon, providing award-winning service for all your holiday needs.
