On the Lizard peninsula in the far south west of Cornwall, near the village of Mullion, you’ll find Newton Equestrian, a family-run riding school with self-catering cottages – the ultimate destination for a holiday of sun, sand and saddles! The cluster of gorgeous and individual self-catering cottages is ideal for everyone from individuals to larger groups of family or friends.

With stables on site and miles upon miles of beautiful scenery to explore quite literally on your doorstep, this really is an equestrian fanatic’s dream. Newton Equestrian has everything you could possibly need for an amazing horsey holiday, allowing you to hone your skills in a truly magical setting.

Honestly, there’s nothing more exhilarating than horse riding on the beach at sunrise or sunset! It’s perfect for beginners too, with guidance on hand at the riding school.

Willow, Vinnie, Tilly, River and Matilda… these are just some of the equine residents you might meet on your stay, with horses that can accommodate a wide spectrum of ages, weights and levels of experience. For just £100 per person per day, you’ll have self catering accommodation, two hours riding per day, plus access to all the on site facilities (only £75 for non-riders). For avid equestrians, additional riding, lessons and group sessions can be arranged.

But Newton Equestrian is not just for horse lovers, with so much else to enjoy on site, including the heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and gym, snooker room and sports hall. What’s more, it’s the perfect base from which to explore the stunning locale, with a plethora of attractions, pubs and beaches all within close reach. Visit popular beaches including Poldhu cove, perfect for surfing, and Kennack Sands, great for diving and exploring the many rockpools revealed at low tide.
