As usual, the programme is brimming with variety at Hall For Cornwall this autumn. Whether you want to relive the swinging ’60s, sink your teeth into Dracula, or try on the Emperor’s New Clothes, there’s something for you.

 

DRACULA: THE BLOODY TRUTH
Friday 17th November

Exeter based Theatre Company, Le Navet Bete create hilarious and accessible comedy theatre using creative and engaging storytelling. Dracula: The Bloody Truth will transport you across Europe, from the sinister Transylvanian mountains to the awkwardly charming seaside town of Whitby, whilst the frantic Van Helsing and his three amateur actors try to stage a life-changing, factual theatrical production of the events of Dracula.
Age recommendation: 8+


PAUL ZERDIN: ALL MOUTH
Thursday 9th November

America’s Got Talent winner, ventriloquist Paul Zerdin returns to the UK fresh from headlining the world-famous Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas with a sparkling new show featuring his all-star cast of (in)famous puppets. Enjoy an evening of laugh-out-loud stand-up comedy and ventriloquism!

THE SOLID GOLD ROCK ‘N’ ROLL SHOW
Saturday 18th November

Join us in celebrating Marty Wilde’s 60th anniversary in the business as he, together with Eden Kane, Mike Berry, and The Wildcats, as well as very special guest Mark Wynter, join forces in The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show.

THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES
Saturday 4th November

Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company presents The Emperor’s New Clothes. This classic tale tells the story of an emperor who loves clothes more than anything. Despite a wardrobe the size of Paris, he’s run out of outfits and it’s his birthday tomorrow! When two ‘designers’ promise to create him an outfit that’s never been seen before, our eccentric emperor doesn’t quite realise the spectacle he is about to make.

THE BLUES BAND
Friday 10th November

The Blues Band are celebrating 38 glorious years as Britain and Europe’s leading exponents of one of the greatest musical traditions of all time. Enjoy a stunning evening of original compositions and blues classics, all delivered with passion, knowledge, love of the genre and entertaining showmanship.


ACADEMY OF ANCIENT MUSIC
Tuesday 7th November

Hall For Cornwall’s International Concert Series continues with a performance from one of the world’s leading period-instrument orchestras. Enjoy a fascinating programme of works by friends and rivals, Bach and Telemann, including two of Bach’s great Brandenburg Concertos and Telemann’s witty Don Quixote Suite.


MIDGE URE, THE CHRISTIANS, ALTERED IMAGES
Saturday 11th November

Midge Ure with Band Electronica, The Christians and Altered Images featuring Clare Grogan, three critically acclaimed legends of the 1980s join forces in this major new UK tour. This collaborative tour will feature some of the band’s most acclaimed hits including Vienna, Happy Birthday and Harvest for the World.

Wednesday 8th November

Join rock ‘n’ roll star, Joe Brown as he incorporates his diverse musical styles into this brand new show. Packed with timeless classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk and rock ‘n’ roll, all interwoven with Joe’s effervescent delivery and humorous reminiscences, this sensational show is a musical journey not to be missed.


RAY MEARS
Tuesday 14th November

The legendary survival expert, Ray Mears presents his new live show, Born to go Wild. From a very young age Ray discovered the joys of exploring the most undisturbed, wild and natural areas left on our planet. Ray will take you on a journey that he deeply values for cultural, spiritual, moral and aesthetic reasons and explain why he believes these are vital for the human spirit.

SABA DOUGLAS-HAMILTON: A LIFE WITH ELEPHANTS
Thursday 16th November

Join Saba Douglas-Hamilton, the highly-acclaimed elephant conservationist and wildlife TV presenter of This Wild Life and Big Cat Diaries for an evening of exciting animal stories and intimate behind-the-scenes tales of life in Kenya with her young family.


KNEEHIGH: THE TIN DRUM
Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th November

The award-winning, Kneehigh Theatre presents The Tin Drum. On Oskar’s third birthday he decides to remain a child forever. Armed with a heart full of rage, a singing voice that shatters glass, and a seemingly indestructible tin drum, Oskar sets about to reveal the world for what it truly is. From the team that brought you the internationally acclaimed Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs), Kneehigh will retell this extraordinary story: part Baroque opera, part psychedelic white-out, part epic poem.
