A festive day out

Have a truly Trebah Christmas this December at Trebah Garden on the stunning Helford river.

Despite the drop in temperature, winter is a great time to get out and explore the beauty of Cornwall, and nowhere is this more pertinent than at Trebah Garden, nestled next to the Helford river. The best part is, in the run up to Christmas, there’s plenty to get the whole family excited about!

“… watch elves handcrafting unique gifts, just in time from them to be collected by the kids from Santa himself.”

The garden’s annual Santa days have this year been reimagined, with the help of Jude and Alan Munden – the very talented couple who’ve provided many theatre sets for Miracle theatre, and who created everything visual for the recent puppet production ‘Aunty Emily’. Visitors to this year’s Santa days will be able to watch elves handcrafting unique gifts, just in time for them to be collected by the kids from Santa himself. Rest a while in the elf canteen with a hot chocolate while the elves busy themselves around you, before meeting the balloon-bending wizard, Tarquin, who’ll also be joining Santa.

After a day spent exploring the garden and meeting the man in red, why not stop at Trebah Kitchen and tuck into the team’s homemade Christmas cakes and puddings, or stop for lunch? Trebah Christmas lunches are served from 12th to 15th December from noon until 2.30pm, and the menu will feature locally sourced traditional roasts, while also catering for wider tastes, with dishes including winter herb gnocchi and roasted cod loin, all ethically sourced.

With face painting and Christmas crafts for the kids, stunning walks through Trebah’s famed garden and a sumptuous menu for all appetites, if you’re looking for a family day that promises to entertain whatever the weather, be sure to visit Trebah Garden this December.
