The miracle of Christmas

We love a proper Christmas tradition, from sipping mulled wine around the fire to singing carols in the market square. But one of our favourites has got to be a family trip to the theatre. Of course, here in Cornwall, we like to do things a bit differently, which is what makes the prospect of a Miracle Theatre production all the more exciting.

Known largely for its travelling open-air stage shows, you’re probably more likely to have experienced the Miracle magic across the summer on a beach or clifftop – perhaps at the Minack. But a new tradition is forming, thanks to last year’s production of Cinderella at the Princess Pavilion in Falmouth. Miracle took the story back to its roots, presenting it as a Victorian pantomime, which revealed the behind-the-scenes mechanics and antics of a Victorian production – a novel twist, in effect creating a play within a play.

Eager to discover what this year holds, we track down Artistic Director, Bill Scott, to find out more. “We started to think about the next production almost straight away,” explains Bill.
