Falmouth fashion

The March Hare, an unassuming, independent retailer in the coastal town of Falmouth has plenty to offer the fashion-conscious shopper.

In today’s world of fashion, there really should be no need to compromise when it comes to quality, fashion and affordability. Falmouth, with its rows of artisans and independent retailers, is one of Cornwall’s finest shopping destinations. One of Falmouth’s longest-standing shops, The March Hare is a fantastic place to start for women who like to wear something a little different. Indeed, over the last 50 years, this once-small boutique has become a staple of Falmouth’s vibrant High Street.

“I love selecting new seasons’ stock with my daughter-in-law Nicola, and we’re always searching for new designers.”

Store owner, Angela has always lived in Falmouth and has come to know her customers well. Having owned the business for 17 years, she has a wealth of fashion experience, including running a number of fashion shows for charity, so she certainly has an eye for what’s hot and what’s not!

She tells us: “I love selecting new seasons’ stock with my daughter-in-law Nicola, and we’re always searching for new designers. This season, we have some new labels including the New Zealand brand FOIL – presenting smart-casual summer wear, and Maria Bellentani, with their luxurious Italian range. We’re always on hand and happy to help you choose the perfect outfit for any occasion, whether you’re the mother of the bride or going on a cruise!”

And there are plenty more. Other labels available at the March Hare include Frank Lyman, Gina Baconia and Michael Louisa, each offering occasional wear, as well as Barbara Lebek, Doris Striech, Pont Neuf for day wear. If you’re looking for something more casual, you’ll find that Marble, Q’neel, Emreco and NYDJ, each with something unique to offer your individual style. The best part is that Angela and the team stock a range of shoes, bags, hats and jewellery to match the rest of the range.
