Practice perfect

We meet the trio behind Cathedral Dental, a family friendly practice offering everything you need to win back that glorious smile.

Speaking to Alex Willmore, Fergus Brown and Kyle Talbot – partners at Cathedral Dental Practice – it quickly becomes clear that this isn’t your average family dental practice. The trio took on the practice in 2016, when the previous owner retired and offered them the chance to run it themselves. Alex tells us: “The practice was already well set up, so we just had to make it ours!”

“Many think of us as a family practice, and that’s certainly true. However, we’ve become much more than that.”

Since taking it on, they’ve trained themselves in a number of advanced treatments, including Invisalign Go – an alternative to conventional wire and bracket fixed braces; non-surgical cosmetic treatments including wrinkle reduction, and dermal fillers – to smooth creases and lines around the mouth and nose area; as well as Cerezen treatment for jaw pain, and teeth-whitening treatments. “We also benefit from being able to offer comprehensive hygiene treatments to our patients.”

Fergus explains: “Many think of us as a family practice, and that’s certainly true. However, we’ve become much more than that.”

The practice recently went through a major refurbishment, which included the addition of a new surgery room. As a result, they tell us, “we can now take on more new patients which is something we haven’t been able to do for some time.”

Perhaps the most impressive part, however, is the professionalism and qualification evident in each member of the team, including all 14 support staff. “Our support staff are fantastic, and are well trained in giving patients an overview of what treatments are available and how we can help with specific issues.

“This is crucial, because we’re not just here for routine check-ups and fillings (although, of course, these are an important part of the job); we have a wide range of new services on offer, and it’s essential that our patients feel like they’re well looked after from the very beginning of the consultation process.”

Alex, Fergus and Kyle encourage all patients to pop in and discuss their unique circumstances and the solutions available.

“We are a very friendly local practice, and the thing that sets us apart from others is that patients here really do get the best of both worlds, in terms of general dental care and more bespoke treatment options.”
