Cornwall Living 2017

Season’s change

While it may be getting colder, The Beach House Company believes in exciting, out-of-season breaks in Cornwall.

Instead of looking back over the summer just passed, ruefully wondering where the time’s gone, The Beach House Company team are looking forward to the autumn and winter ahead. We all love it here when the sun’s shining yet, as the treetop canopies diminish, we find ourselves looking at a new Cornwall, painted from a palette of autumnal browns, reds and golds that is, quite simply, more beautiful than anywhere else in the world. What’s more, as winter approaches, we look on in both admiration and awe as the Atlantic boils, rolls and rages in petulant tantrums. The point is, even as Cornwall enters the depths of winter, this diverse county always presents something to amaze us and, arguably, it’s as the sun’s arc begins to shallow that Cornwall really comes into its own.

In fact, The Beach House Company firmly believes that, outside of the main season, Cornwall opens itself up even more to those brave enough to face the elements. Beaches that remain firmly closed to dogs in the warmer months spread their arms in welcome, so your dog can leap, bound and roll to their heart’s content. The best part is that the crowds that dominate a Cornish summer become a thing of the past, leaving the road ahead clear for you to explore without the traffic.

There’s a wealth of activities to keep you busy in the colder months, from walking the coastal paths and braving the sea for a one-on-one surf lesson, to indulgent spa days and private cookery lessons. Cornwall is famed for its delectable dining scene, including, but certainly not limited to, seafood so it is the perfect destination for a foodie break. The Beach House Company offers an inclusive concierge service to help you get the best out of the local area at any time of year and even do all of the organising for you.

As is the case with any getaway, you’ll want to relax in comfort and style. Fortunately, The Beach House Company has just the property! Nestled in the Mawgan Porth headland, just a short stroll from the family-friendly beach, Tamarisk places you in prime position for long coastal walks and welcomes you home with an oversized sofa to sink into, as the Atlantic storms hammer against the windows and you get cosy around the fire.

Set over two floors, the house boasts four bedrooms, two with en suites and sea views, with contemporary, coastally-inspired décor. With facilities and mod cons to make you feel at home including Smart TV, a Sonos music system, and external hot showers, it really is the perfect base from which to launch your adventure. So, if holidaying in the colder months appeals to the adventurer in you, give The Beach House Company team a call – they’ll introduce you to a whole new side of Cornwall!
