Cornwall Living 2018

Summer Gold

Immerse yourself in the county’s mining heritage and sample the stunning jewellery at Cornwall Gold.

Nestled amongst north Cornwall’s rolling hills, the popular visitor attraction has been forging beautifully timeless jewellery for more than 25 years.  This summer, Cornwall Gold has unveiled a number of new ranges certain to get you into the holiday spirit. Poldark is bound to be a popular beach read this year, and who could fail to be inspired by the recent TV adaptation?

New this season you’ll find the stunning Demelza range, taking the classical beauty of the iconic Cornish heroine and weaving it with the traditional influence of the Carrick knot to form a striking collection. If contemporary is more your style, why not invest in a pair of flipflops and help support Surfers Against Sewage? The new flipflops incorporate silver, Tolgus tin and granite into this season’s must have. What’s more, for each sale a donation is made to SAS in this their 25th year.

Another highlight for 2015 is the relaunch of the historic Tolgus Tin Mill. Established in 1865, the mill is the last original one of its kind – a unique survivor. Take a trip back in time and discover the fascinating and resourceful nature of Cornish tin streaming where nothing went to waste. Tolgus Tin Mill has also started to recover and smelt its own tin for the first time since the 1980s, which then goes into the Tolgus Collection. Sales from the jewellery help to fund the preservation of the mill. Cornwall Gold also offers a range of family activities and attractions including the county’s largest collection of pearl jewellery. Cornwall Pearl offers expert advice and help is always on hand in the workshop. If art is your thing, pop into Whistlefish and browse the array of local artworks and cards.

Be sure to make time to grab a bite to eat from the delicious Cornish Pantry restaurant, serving up imaginative culinary delights and even take away a taste of Cornwall with a Simply Cornish hamper! Not forgetting the younger ones, there’s plenty to keep them busy such as Tolgus Stream Panning, Pick a Diamond, Krazy Golf, Build a Bear, and much more!

Cornwall Gold offers free admission, parking and is open seven days a week, so you have no excuse to make a visit this summer.
