Still using the same recipe and method passed down through generations of their family, the pasties they bake are Cornish through and through. With fresh ingredients sourced from local farms only the highest quality produce are used, including butter from Trewithen Dairy, grass fed cattle from a farm on the Lizard Peninsular, Potatoes from Manaccan on the Helford River, Davidstow Cheddar cheese and Doves Organic Flour.
Their tasty, traditional Cornish pasties can be bought freshly baked, frozen, or even as quirky gifts delivered to someone’s door. Their new online ‘Postal Pasty’ shop allows you to order and send pasties anywhere on Mainland Britain!
The family recipe became a commercial venture 30 years ago, when current owner Ann and her mother Hettie decided to sell some of their home made pasties at a local guildhall in the market town of Helston, Cornwall. The business moved from strength to strength becoming successful enough to grow to a shop based venture, initially in the harbour town of Porthleven before moving to the Lizard Village.
Recently, Ann’s son Fergus has taken the business to the next level, going full circle and returning to Helston to open a new bakery to help his mum out with online orders, events and wholesale customers.
The Helston bakery now exists as a busy shop and internet business. This expansion has allowed their pasties to be sold at various venues throughout West Cornwall. You can find Ann’s Pasties in colleges (Falmouth University and Truro College), Cornish deli’s and of course at the Ann’s Pasties shops in Helston (01326 572282) and The Lizard. Their main stockists include The Cornish Foodbox Company in Truro, Picnic Cornwall in Falmouth, Heartlands in Pool and The Allotment Deli in St Ives.
Ann’s Pasties cater for local events (weddings, birthdays, and corporate events) and can post pasties anywhere on Mainland Britain as gifts or for your self. And with out a doubt, made with the same great family recipe and ingredients. Find them online at www.annspasties.co.uk
