Duchy of Cornwall Nursery Cafe, Lostwithiel

The Duchy’s Hidden Gem … Discover a café amongst the flowers.

Having long been renowned for its extensive range of plants & expert knowledge, The Duchy of Cornwall Nursery has been a natural draw for those who love the outdoors. However, its hidden gem is undoubtedly the café & shop, which enjoys stunning views of Restormel Castle.

Housed in a timber framed building, the café has been built by local craftsmen using sustainable materials sympathetic to its woodland surroundings. However, it is the enthusiasm of head chef, Richard Du Pille, which makes it such a success.

Richard is passionate about the use of local produce & it shows as he & his team were recently rewarded when the café was named the best in the South West by Food Magazine.

If you are going to try one dish, we highly recommend the haddock chowder, which is not to be missed. We consider that the perfect way to burn off those extra calories is by taking a stroll around the nursery’s 4000 varieties of plants currently on sale.

Garden enthusiasts will be able to peruse plants including trees, shrubs, perennials, conifers, alpines, fruit, climbers, glasshouse & conservatory plants. The range is vast & many are so rare that they are not available anywhere else in the UK.

Spoilt for choice? Then why not ask the friendly nursery staff who are always on hand to offer expert advice.
