Fentongollan Farm

The Hosking family has farmed at Fentongollan since 1883. The farm is in a beautiful situation in the heart of Cornwall on the banks of the Fal estuary, where we grow daffodil bulbs, vegetable plants, cereals and produce early fat lambs from our flock of Dorset sheep alongside the specialist horticultural enterprises.

160 acres of daffodils are grown for the sale of cut flowers and dry bulbs. These are sold in this country and exported to Holland. Fentongollan has one of the widest ranging lists of home grown varieties available for sale in the country. We take great care of the health of our bulb stocks and cherish the reputation that Cornwall has for being one of the finest growing areas in the world for daffodils and narcissi.

We get enormous pleasure from all of the almost unrivalled collection of flowering bulbs grown here on the farm. In total we have over 250 varieties including many that are new or unique. We have been running our flowers-by- post business for 40 years, when Jim Hosking a renowned daffodil grower, started sending his favourite daffodils and new varieties he was keen to show off, to his friends by post.

These were so well received it grew into a ‘daffodils by post’ business long before this became an established way to give flowers. Our full range of Fentongollan daffodils are available from Mid- January to April and we grow over 200 different varieties here on the farm. Our team of flower pickers are in the field’s hand-picking and selecting the best varieties to send out each day. We also supply wholesale daffodils to shops, florists, hotels and other large scale customers.

As well as our flowers and bulbs we also grow an extensive range of superb vegetable seedling varieties that perform well in the garden and taste great too. All the plants have been carefully grown and hardened off in our seedling nursery and will be sent to you in our unique breathable plant packaging.

Even if you don’t have a dedicated veggie patch you can still grow fantastic crops in pots, tubs and just about any other good sized container. We offer great value pick and mix options which can save you ££’s and our mixed variety options help you spread the harvest across the season.
