Cornwall Living 2017

Heading back in time in St Agnes

If you’ve ever fancied getting kitted out in Victorian-style fancy dress and raising a lot of money for charity, then the chances are you may well enjoy the St Agnes Victorian Street Fayre.

Taking place on June 4, the fayre sees St Agnes colourfully transformed with numerous stalls lining the main street. Each stall is run by a different charity with stallholders dressed in authentic Victorian costumes.

Whilst browsing the succession of tombola, plant, book and bric-a-brac stalls you can enjoy strawberry cream teas and other refreshments whilst listening to the St Agnes Silver Band and a host of other local musicians.

For those Cornish bakers out there, there is also a competition to see who can produce the best pasty, with the winner being auctioned off for charity.

The event raised around £14,000 last year and if this all sounds like a proper job to you then go to www.st-agnes.com for more information.
