Cornwall Living 2017

The Stable

The Stable offers award-winning gourmet pizzas, delicious artisan pies and over 80 different varieties of craft cider served in a relaxed, rustic atmosphere.  Whether you’re enjoying the panoramic views over the raging surf at the stunningly located Fistral Beach restaurant or watching over the beautiful bustling harbour of Falmouth, you’ll be treated to freshly made food and an extensive range of the West Country’s finest cider, served right by the sea.

West Country heritage is represented throughout the menu with pizzas and pies inspired by the local area. All pizzas are made onsite using organic British flour to create the famous sour dough bases, topped with fresh ingredients sourced locally. Communal tables and food served on rustic wooden boards add to the friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Pull up a bench, take in the views over the water and order at the bar when you’re ready.

With over 80 ciders available the friendly Stable staff will happily guide you to a choice, whether it’s a traditional Scrumpy, a bottle of crisp sparkling cider or a fancy cider brandy. For cider novices and aficionados, they will also be serving a cider tasting board, to help you taste a range of cider and discover your preferred tipple based on five 1/3 pints.

Customers with special dietary requirements are well catered for – with gluten- free bases, and vegan and vegetarian toppings easily available on request – and a choice of side salad and homemade garlic pizza bread is available to complement your meal. The dessert menu also presents some lovely treats, including warm apple crumble with clotted cream, and apple and ginger cheesecake. There’s even a chocolate and mascarpone pizza available. Kids are made to feel welcome with a special kids menu too that offers a selection of pizzas for smaller tummies. For the early risers, The Stable breakfast is available at the Fistral restaurant and is a great way to start the day whilst watching the morning surfers. Takeaway is also available in Fistral from 8am- 5pm.

The Stable began life in 2009 in an original 17th century stable block tucked behind the Bull Hotel in Bridport, Dorset and was recently voted one of the best places for cheap eats in the South in the Observer Food Monthly Awards. Falmouth opens on the 28th August and will be the 7th restaurant, with the others being in Bristol, Bath, Poole, and Weymouth.
