5 of the best dog-friendly stays

Curl up with your pooch after a day’s exploring in your choice of dog-friendly Cornish accommodation.

Nowadays, more and more of us are basing our holiday plans on whether or not our furriest of friends can travel with us. In response to this growing demand, Cornwall’s superb selection of pet-friendly stays continues to expand, catering to humans and hounds alike. From luxury self-catering cottages to hotels by the sea, here are just a few of our favourites.

Trenale Court Cottages

Trenale Court Holiday Cottages is a collection of dog-friendly period character cottages, set in an idyllic location in Tintagel. Each cottage has its own private garden and use of an enclosed paddock with amazing sea and sunset views. Just a walk away you’ll find St Nectan’s Glen Waterfall, a beautiful spot to take a morning stroll with your pooch, and Tintagel village which has a selection of cosy pubs and cafes. Also nearby are the historic remains of Tintagel Castle, rich with myth and legend and now featuring a spectacular new bridge.

The farm has both woodlands and streams running through beautiful countryside, and is just three miles from dog-friendly beaches, providing the perfect landscape to explore with your furry friend. The cottage, sleeping five, and the farmhouse (five en-suite guest rooms) are all dog friendly and also accessible for disabled visitors.

Creekside Cottages

Offering a fine collection of waterside and rural self-catering cottages on the south coast of Cornwall, 23 of which are dog friendly, Creekside Cottages have more than enough choice for a wonderful self-catering holiday for you and your furry friend. We hear from owner Martin Watson who tells us: “We’re a closely run and supervised company, it’s not a large agency, we’re a family business meaning you get a personal service tailored to you.” Whether you’re looking for a romantic couple’s cottage, a traditional waterside fisherman’s holiday or a luxury self-catering holiday house there’s sure to be something to suit you.
