A day to remember

Discover Kilminorth Cottages – providing completely bespoke weddings in a picturesque pocket of south-east Cornwall.

From their first wedding in 2013, Jayne and the team at Kilminorth Cottages have been working hard to offer couples a truly individual wedding experience. Think fire pits, dancing under the stars, sparklers, lanterns hanging in trees, bunting and festoon lighting; if you’re in need of a venue that’s happy to let your imagination run wild, then we highly recommend seeing what Kilminorth has to offer.

Jayne explains:

“We like to allow couples to have the wedding they have imagined from an early age. We always start by asking them what they want – it’s not about what we can do, but what they want to do.”

You can be as traditional or alternative, elegant or extravagant as you like. As Jayne puts it: “There are no pre-packaged weddings here! We’ve had dogs as ring bearers, sisters playing the harp, singing dads, DJing brothers – even a dance troop!”

Gather around the wooden alter set, known as the Chy Hos (Cornish for ‘duck pond’, although it has long since dried up!), to make your vows. Surrounded by apple trees and old Cornish stone walls, it’s a most picturesque setting in which to say ‘I do’.

If you’re looking for a more intimate affair then The Old Farmhouse, Kilminorth’s stunning cottages and a number of other indoor and outdoor areas are also licensed for weddings, making them perfect for up to 40 of your nearest and dearest.

So what about the catering? Well, this is another chance for you to unleash your imagination. Kilminorth don’t have contracted caterers that you have to use, so it’s entirely up to you. They do, however, have a number of tried and tasted local companies who they’re happy to recommend – whether it’s a formal dining experience, creative canapés, sharing platters or a hog or ram roast.  All of this, plus the option of a bespoke-stocked bar, means that if you are stuck for ideas, you’ll have some thoroughly vetted options to choose from.

Kilminorth is a year-round destination and absolutely perfect for your wedding, whether you’re looking to elope or for a big, bright occasion, run by a team that’s focussed on making your big day just that extra bit special. With 32 acres of Cornish meadows, grounds and gardens providing a stunning backdrop for photos, you’ll spend your day making memories that promise to last a lifetime.
