Cornwall LivingIssue #86

A real show stopper

The weekend of May 4th and 5th saw over 3,500 visitors flock to Cornwall’s premier home and garden event.

This impressive event has grown year on year, becoming the destination of choice for those looking for interiors, garden, renewable and self-build assistance, products and services. Sponsored by Duke Stone of Cornwall, and ourselves here at Cornwall Living – it was a proud moment to be exhibiting alongside over 140 of the region’s top makers, designers and suppliers. This year, the event spilled out of the 4,000m2 indoor arena to allow for more space for exhibitors in the outdoor arena.

we have had such an amazing atmosphere at the venue, it’s so pleasing to feel such positive vibes from so many visitors and exhibitors”

The ninth successive show since its inauguration in 2011, Home Show Director, Andrew Weaver tells us: “We are thankful for all those who have supported the event and the local businesses that we had the privilege of hosting. We take pride in offering visitors the chance to work with specialist local companies in the home and garden sectors. We continue to turn away big nationals so our local economy can grow and I’m pleased our visitors are contributing in the same way by shopping locally. We look forward to our next events coming up in September in Truro and October at the showground.”

The ever-popular Cornwall Food & Drink Market and Café, serving delicious artisan produce, was available for all to enjoy. Exhibitor Liaison Manager, Claire Ellis exclaims: “Again we have had such an amazing atmosphere at the venue, it’s so pleasing to feel such positive vibes from so many visitors and exhibitors. It was great to welcome some new companies into the mix and I hope it proved just as beneficial to them as it did to the returning clients. Overall a fantastic turn out for the show with plenty of happy visitors. It’s a great event to be part of.”

So, if you want to discover the amazing variety of home and lifestyle businesses available to work with in Cornwall then make sure to attend the show next year, and look out for other events where Cornwall’s buzzing home improvement sector is showcased.
