“St Ives is, in many ways, unique” Emma muses. “Beautiful, thriving, and most unusually for Cornish seaside spots, busy almost all year round! Holidaymaker footfall in the area is high not just for the peak summer weeks, but for the shoulder months and winter season too. This is unsurprising, given the area is a haven for dog-walkers, couples, groups of friends, and countless others who purposely choose to visit outside of the school holiday season.
“In 2022, during the peak summer holiday weeks, we enjoyed occupancy rates of over 98% in our 170+ self-catering holiday homes in Carbis Bay and St Ives. This trend continued into the autumn and impressively we also had an occupancy rate of over 96% throughout September, and a 94% occupancy rate for October half term – incredible considering the post-staycation-boom era we are in.
“The popularity of the region looks set to continue into 2023, with Easter, June, September and October half term all showing higher occupancy levels than at the same point last year, despite the recent cost of living pressures. With this continued customer demand for accommodation in the area, we are looking to further expand our portfolio of holiday properties, particularly along the Gwithian and Godrevy coastline, where people are increasingly looking to stay.
“Recently added to our portfolio is Beachcroft, a fantastic eco-friendly home sleeping ten people, situated in the heart of Carbis Bay. It has already achieved an incredible 19 weeks of bookings for 2023, and one booking for 2024, despite only being on the website for a few short weeks – testament to the demand we are currently seeing, and the national marketing exposure we offer as an agency.”
