A Warm Winter
Now is the perfect opportunity to install your heating system to keep you warm this winter.
Despite the fact that summer has just begun, those ever-colder winters still linger in the backs of our minds, so we spoke to GreenGenUK for some of their thoughts on how to efficiently and sustainably heat your home this winter. They believe that preparation for the cooler months should begin now, with either servicing or installing your own heat pump. With a minimum of eight new installations each week, their air source heat pump can heat your home sustainably and keep old Jack Frost at bay. Each project and installation that they are tasked with aims to be technically proficient, dedicated to the client and, most important of all, manage and assist in counteracting the continual changes in our environment
Recently, one of their projects achieved remarkable sustainability and energy efficiency. This project, a home in Porthleven, Cornwall, showcased a combination of a a JA solar PV array (producing 4000 kWh annually), a GivEnergy hybrid battery solution, a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump, a MyEnergi Zappi EV charger and an Eddi hot water diverter. These installations worked together seamlessly allowed for a truly environmentally friendly home. Solar panels provided renewable energy for the heat pump and other systems, while advanced insulation and underfloor heating ensured optimal thermal performance and reduced heating and hot water usage to just 250kWh. Not only that, but the hot water diverter and EV charging further enhanced the use of renewable energy. The aim was for a negative carbon impact of less than 0.5 tons per year, so creating a positive effect on the environment, even during the winter. All of this combined allowed the property to attain an A-rating on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), proving that you can still sat warm in winter while helping the planet.
These methods of heating are not only sustainable but can also be affordable. Recent updates to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) lead to a £7,500 voucher being available towards your installation. In addition, Ofgem has removed requirement for mandatory cavity wall and loft insulation, making the voucher now more accessible than ever.
The BUS is great for anybody looking to replace their fossil fuel heating system with a renewable heat pump. The £7,500 grant is upfront and deducted from the amount you pay and GreenGenUK deal with all the application!
Continual ongoing improvements to technologies and operations allows GreenGenUK to heat your home in the most efficient, effective and sustainable fashion that you can access at an affordable price.
