A waterside stay

We discover Creekside Cottages’ beautiful holiday homes in stunning waterfront locations.

Creekside Cottages offer a fine collection of individual waterside and rural self-catering holiday cottages on the south coast of Cornwall. We hear from owner Martin Watson who tells us:

“We’re a closely run and supervised company, it’s not a large agency, we’re a family business which has been running since 1956 meaning you get a personal service tailored to you.”

Whether you’re looking for a romantic couple’s cottage, a traditional waterside fisherman’s holiday, or luxury self-catering holiday houses sleeping from two up to eight, Creekside Cottages has something to suit you.

The benefits of choosing self-catering accommodation are easy to imagine, first and foremost perhaps is the freedom it affords. You set your own rules, you can eat whenever you choose to, be as loud as you like without worrying about waking other guests and generally just have your own space. Not to mention the fact that there’s so much variation with self-catered accommodation, from sophisticated seaside apartments to traditional cottages in the heart of a village.

Two cottages that we’ve picked out are River Cottage and Beach Cottage. River Cottage is a luxurious cottage for two on the banks of Truro river. Situated in the village of Malpas, a stunning Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage makes a great base for exploring Cornwall, with all its spectacular coastal walks and idyllic traditional fishing villages. Popular National Trust property, Trelissick Gardens is nearby, and a passenger ferry service runs from Malpas village to Falmouth and St Mawes, from April to October. You can even explore the beautiful Roseland peninsula by car, crossing the Truro river on the King Harry Ferry.

Beach Cottage is also set in a breathtaking position at the entrance to Restronguet Creek, superbly appointed to take full advantage of the tremendous views across the water to the Roseland peninsula. The tranquil setting of this detached cottage is perfect for those who love messing about on the water with the beach right outside the garden gate. Sleeping five people in three bedrooms, it’s perfect for families and is within easy reach of many of Cornwall’s best attractions. For example Falmouth, which offers everything you could desire.
