A wild adventure

Meet your favourite animals, discover new and unusual species and get up close to some of the wonders of the natural world.

With hundreds of animals – from red pandas to penguins, lemurs to lynx – as well as 13 acres of lush sub-tropical gardens and multiple play areas, an adventure at Newquay Zoo promises to be a real wild time.

Travel from the open plains of the African savannah to the tranquil gardens of Japan and South America’s tropical forests in just one day! Meet free-flying birds in the Gems of the Jungle aviary, encounter endangered and unusual creatures on the Wildlife at Night exhibition, and investigate reptiles and amphibians in the Tropical House. And don’t forget to visit the Village Farm and give the pygmy goats a scratch!

Throughout the day, you’ll also be able to learn more about Newquay’s animals, and even see them in action, with a range of talks, activities and feeding times. There are also a variety of outdoor play areas where little ones can let off steam, as well as the Tarzan Trail assault course where even grownups can join in the fun! Plus, check out the beautiful grounds, from the elegant Oriental Garden to the Secret Garden, hidden in the heart of the zoo.

To refuel during your adventure, Newquay Zoo offers a wide selection of fresh, local and ethically sourced food. Enjoy a spot of lunch at Café Lemur, which serves a delicious range of food from pizzas and burgers to salads and mezze boxes. Or grab food on the go from one of the takeaway kiosks located at convenient locations around the zoo.

Newquay Zoo is part of Wild Planet Trust, an education, research and conservation charity which supports a number of conservation projects around the world and plays a key role in breeding programmes for endangered species. Located just a short walk away from Newquay town centre, it is one of Cornwall’s most loved visitor attractions, and come rain or shine, offers fun for all the family. The best part is that by visiting, you are also directly helping to conserve life in the wild.
