As you walk through the arches and into the grounds of Tremaine Green Cottages, a sense of tranquility and peace envelops you. You’re greeted to the sight of period Cornish cottages in a traditional courtyard setting, made from mellow Cornish stone, granite and blue delabole slate once mined at a quarry nearby and shipped from the picturesque fishing harbour of Polperro.

The peaceful surroundings at Tremaine are rich and green with well-established, award winning gardens– far enough from any main roads for kids to roam around and play without the worry of traffic. Not to mention the pigmy goats and miniature horses on-site that you can pet, feed and befriend, as well as the owners friendly Great Dane. There is also a tennis court if you’re up for a game or two.

Well located to explore south Cornwall’s plethora of coves and small tranquil beaches, this stretch of coastline is protected by the National Trust and is fondly known as the ‘smugglers coast’ thanks to its legends of piracy and bootlegging.  Tremaine Green’s closest cove, Lansallos, is just 2.5miles away and was described by BBC Coast as: “The quintessential Cornish smugglers cove,” who knows you might even stumble across some long lost treasure! Also nearby are the neighbouring towns of Fowey and Looe, with brilliant restaurants, bars and artisan shops to explore.

Then, after a day exploring south Cornwall’s secret coves, tranquil waters and idyllic fishing villages return to your cosy cottage and watch the sun go down from the patio with a glass of something chilled, or, if it’s a cool evening – snuggle down in front of the comforting glow of a warm fire.

Tremaine provides the opportunity for families big or small to gather together, with cottages ranging from one to three-bedroom and the potential to rent numerous cottages for larger families or family celebrations. Accommodating up to 45 people, all in beds, and with up to two dogs allowed per cottage, you’re sure to have a holiday to remember whether you’re just with your partner or a whole group of family and friends.
