Foodie Cornwall

Asian fusion on the coast

Sitting above Mevagissey Bay, Cornwall’s latest addition to the restaurant scene has taken the coast by storm.

Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12pm, this sizzling new restaurant serves up a relaxed lunch experience and an à la carte evening menu. From 12pm – 2pm, Stingi’s lunch experience is inspired by the Cantonese yum cha brunch. Guests are invited to browse the assortment of hand-crafted dishes as they pass by and choose their plates. While the dishes change with the seasonality of local produce, you can expect variations of panko prawns with salad and sweet chilli, spicy BBQ pork ribs with crispy onions, Asian pork belly bites with garlic, ginger, spring onion and beansprouts, masala grilled mackerel fillet with poppadom and mango chutney and laab lamb spring roll with sweet chilli and plum dip.

These dishes are priced at just £6.50 per small plate, designed to offer a tasty lunch option, while enjoying sea views and extravagant cocktails made from the finest ingredients.

In the evening, the menu moves to an à la carte offering, where the restaurant changes with the sunset tones and immersive Asian décor. Relax beneath impressive light sculptures that cast a warm glow over your colourful dishes, creating the perfect ambience for a romantic evening.

Freshly made to order, you can choose from popular Stingi’s curries, served with jasmine rice and traditional crackers, or taste the zingy flavours of their chaat masala roasted lamb rump, fillet steak medallions with an Asian creamy peppercorn sauce, hake fillet on seared bok choi, Asian seafood tasting platter and much more.

Pair each course with local wine from Truro’s Old Chapel Cellars, a tumbler of Japanese whisky, or a cocktail made to order.

Start or finish the night with a drink in the cocktail bar, which doubles as a function room for private events, meetings and gatherings.

Stingi’s restaurant has 54 seats per sitting, so booking is essential to avoid disappointment. Just email them at info@stingis.co.uk or give them a call.
