The Customs House Gallery continues to build on its reputation for showcasing the very best of original Cornish art.

Established in 1995, the Customs House Gallery on Porthleven’s beautiful harbourside is an independent gallery owned and managed by husband-and-wife team, John and Louise Winterton. Working with Debbie, who completes their team of three, John and Louise love sharing the gallery with people, whether you’re looking for something to adorn your walls or simply want to see for yourself the amazing creativity that this county inspires.

Inside, you’ll discover that the Customs House Gallery exhibits work in a range of styles, including landscapes and still life, as well as seascapes. There is also a fabulous display of ceramics, sculpture, glass, jewellery and even some textiles in the form of beautiful hand-painted silk scarves from Sharon Verry. But it’s not just the regular display of beautiful pieces that make a visit to the Customs House Gallery worth your while. Indeed, not only does it occupy a premier position on the harbourside in what is arguably one of Cornwall’s most popular foodie hubs, it also has an exciting schedule of exhibitions planned for 2024, full details of which can be found on the website.

More than that, the gallery is a member of the Own Art scheme – a national scheme funded by Arts Council England designed to make owning original art more accessible. This means that should you spot a piece within the gallery that you simply cannot leave without, you can make it yours with 0% finance! Even if you can’t make it to the gallery in person, the gallery has a fully functioning website where work can be browsed as well as purchased, with both UK and international delivery available.
