Trewithen Dairy

Trewithen Direct is a distinct wholesale business operating out of premises in St Columb Major. Its chilled deliveries service the food-service sector, independent retail, coffee shops, care homes and schools across the South West. Delivery to local business is where Trewithen began, and with a heritage of over 20 years serving Cornwall, the team are proud of the reputation associated with the Trewithen Dairy name.

Owned by the Clarke family, they are Cornish dairy farmers turned crafters of delicious dairy products since 1994. In the early days, the Clarkes had their own herd. Bill and Rachel Clarke would bottle the milk once the children were in bed and deliver it early the next morning. They cooked the clotted cream themselves and potted it by hand. Their local customers loved all this Cornish dairy goodness and soon the Clarkes were supplying more happy customers. By 2001 the milk bottling and cream making side of the business had become so successful that they decided to move full time into producing milk, cream and, more recently, butter and yoghurt. Now with more than 250 employees and 35 farms, the dairy processes around 125 million litres of milk each year.
