Stable Cottage | Treveighan

Stable Cottage is one of four luxury self-catering properties at Tredarrup Farm. Rooted in over 700 years of farming heritage, these dog-friendly cottages are perfect for exploring the North Cornish coast. Stable Cottage is perfect for a family-friendly holiday, once home to the farm’s horses. After a meticulous conversion, the barn now has a large open-plan living space with a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area. Beyond you’ll find a relaxed seating area, a perfect cosy spot for movie nights in front of the woodburner. Along the cobbled hallway lie two very comfortable double bedrooms. Both are cocooned by thick stone walls and adorned with Egyptian cotton bed linen. The luxury bed in the master bedroom ensures a restful night’s sleep and there’s an en-suite shower room with a rainfall shower. The second bedroom, meanwhile, has traditional iron bedsteads, which can be configured as two singles or a super king-size double. Stable Cottage has its own private rear garden with firepit, where you can sit and soak up the views of the surrounding fields, with animals grazing as the sun sets. Guests are drawn to the peace and tranquillity at Tredarrup Farm, whose off-the beaten-track location makes it a stay where memories to last a lifetime can be made with family and loved ones.

The Old Boathouse | Rock

Above the Camel Estuary in Rock, The Old Boathouse looks out across water that shifts from turquoise to marine blue with the turn of the tide. Managed by Seamoor Stays, this five-bedroom house has been arranged with family living in mind, balancing generous shared spaces with corners for retreat after long days on the coast. The first-floor sitting room makes full use of the outlook, with wide patio doors opening onto a balcony that catches the movement of boats heading across to Padstow. Light moves easily through the open-plan kitchen and dining space, where breakfasts stretch into late mornings and suppers beckon to everyone to arrange themselves around the table.

Sleeping up to twelve guests, with room for eight adults, the house lends itself to extended family holidays and shared weeks away with friends. There are five bedrooms in total – two bunk rooms give children space to settle in together, while the super king and king bedrooms provide a quiet space for adults. Outside, the enclosed terrace and built-in barbecue create an easy setting for summer evenings, while a wood-burner and snug draw attention back indoors when Atlantic weather rolls in across the estuary.
