Summer Salt, St Ives  

Summer Salt is a stunning two-bedroom, ground floor apartment situated in an imposing Victorian Townhouse within easy walking distance to the town centre and beautiful beaches that have earnt St Ives its fame. Cider Press, Prideux

The perfect retreat for a couple seeking an autumn escape from an increasingly busy world, this one-bedroom converted cider press has charm and character in spades, and is the perfect choice whether you’re in search of a base from which to explore rural Cornwall, or a paradise in which to hunker down and avoid the madding crowd. 

 Approached through a narrow gateway to the parking area, a short walk (100 yards) via a gravel path leads through the orchard to the secluded front terrace where there is a spacious outdoor hot tub for your sole use (available for an additional charge). From here, a covered entrance porch and glazed door with low head clearance leads into the ground floor bedroom with a double bed, a high-beamed ceiling and an en-suite shower room.

 In one corner of the room, a carpeted open-tread staircase winds directly up to a galleried open-plan living room on the first floor with painted wood flooring, a curiously shaped ceiling and views of the countryside from several small windows. There is a fitted kitchen area with solid oak units incorporating an electric oven and ceramic hob, a small dining table and chairs and a cosy and comfortably furnished lounge area with a cushy sofa and armchair.

Outside, there is a garden table with chairs on the front terrace which catches the afternoon sun, and trails lead through the woods to both the lawned garden and orchard bordered on one side by the river and its small tumbling waterfalls.
