Coming into bloom

Now that the winter is finally over, perhaps it’s time to give your garden a springtime spruce.

Well there’s no doubt about it – we’ve had a long, wet and cold winter, but gardeners are a resilient bunch and ever optimistic, especially now that spring is finally here! Over the last few months your garden has probably taken a pounding from the elements, which makes now the perfect time to pop into Bodmin Nursery to get everything you need to bring it back into bloom.

The extensive, family-run nursery has everything you need.”

The extensive, family-run nursery has everything you need. You’ll find five acres of tunnels, glasshouses and stock beds, crammed full of plants suitable for every type of garden: shrubs for coast and moorland; flowering perennials for that Cornish country-garden look, as well as herbs, bedding, grasses, fruit, alpines and much more. The team, made up solely of big gardening enthusiasts, is well aware of the potential challenges that living in Cornwall poses, which is why you’ll always find friendly and helpful advice on hand.

Nestled in the midst of the nursery is The Mill Café, this year with extra space from its new Garden Room extension. With barista-served coffee, scrumptious homemade light lunches and cakes, it’s the ideal spot in which to pause and take some refreshment.

As a real kick-start to spring, Bodmin Nursery will once again be holding its Big Spring Saver Weekend on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd April, when you can enjoy 10% off all nursery purchases. Not only that, there’s also a two-day foodie Farmers Market to look forward to, Teas for Charity, and The Mill Café will even be transformed into an Italian Trattoria!

So, if your garden’s in need of a spruce now that the winter’s over, be sure to pencil Bodmin Nursery into your spring diary.
