Dog-friendly dining
Catch Seafood Bar & Grill
Catch on Mawgan Porth beach is a fantastic seafood restaurant with a green ethos. Head Chef and owner Pat says. “We welcome dogs, and Mawgan Porth allows unrestricted access all year round. We have specific spaces where your furry friend is welcome inside and out. Let us know when booking, so we’ll reserve the right table for you all.” Co-owner Avis adds: “We’re soppy about our own dog Richard who adores the beach. He digs the sand and dips in the rock pools! Then it’s back to Catch for dog treats, a nap on the decking or trying to catch morsels of buttery lobster or steak if he gets lucky. It’s a dog’s life!”

A slice of Cornish history
Pencarrow
Pencarrow, home of the Molesworth-St Aubyn family for nearly 500 years, is tucked away in 50 acres of rolling countryside on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The 8th baronet, Sir William Molesworth, born in 1810, laid out the elegant Italianate Gardens and collected specimen conifers from around the world, some of which still tower over the rhododendrons and camellias that line the mile long carriage. There’s a surprise round every corner, from an Iron Age hill fort to the Victorian lake and ice house, grotto, and a massive rockery of Cornish granite boulders. The house, café and shop are open until 27th September, Sundays to Thursdays. The gardens are open from 1st October every day until 31st October.

Together, we can make their dogs’ lives more fulfilling, interesting and happy whilst strengthening the bond between dog and owner.” Vicki is a full member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and is a fully-qualified life coach, utilising the positive coaching techniques with both owners and dogs. Vicki offers bespoke one-to-one training, and dog walking services, with group classes coming soon.
