Having been open for almost a century, Glanvilles of Wadebridge has become a firm Cornish household favourite.

Specialising in practical, well-designed cookware, and beautiful, functional lighting, Glanvilles of Wadebridge was founded by Ernest Glanville Sr. and his two sons Charles and Ernest in 1919, and later developed by Charles and his wife, Brigitte. Now run by the third generation, it’s fair to say that the originals would be proud of the thriving business it is today!

At the helm, Rosie is in charge of choosing the premier ranges of cookware and housewares, while Guy, her brother-in-law, has built up the lighting department over the last 25 years into what is now an extensive showroom. Liz, Rosie’s sister, recently joined the team, telling us: “I’m really looking forward to building our online presence in the near future!”

Rosie explains: “We always try to go that extra mile to help customers get what will best suit their purpose. We have a dedicated and knowledgeable team of staff, each of whom is passionate about the products they sell. Downstairs, they all have a love for cooking, so can offer expert on advice on those specialist items.”

Glanvilles continues to work with and supply top local chefs and other prestigious local businesses, as well as helping the creators of the Doc Martin film set. Young couples also come to Glanvilles to make the most of the company’s ‘Wedding List’ service, so it seems the team’s expertise knows no bounds!
