Five Of The Best Family Favourites
We all know that when children are happy, everyone’s happy! With that in mind, here are some of our favourite family-friendly stays and places to pique little one’s interest.
STEEPED IN HISTORY
The Castle Heritage Centre
The Castle, Bude’s Heritage Centre, is nestled in the sand dunes overlooking Summerleaze Beach. Built in 1830, the building is steeped in history and is a great place to visit whether young or old. The award-winning Heritage Centre houses artefacts and exhibitions, bringing the rich and varied local history to life. Discover Bude’s unique geology, railway nostalgia, interactive models plus local military and maritime history, not to mention inventive genius, Sir Goldsworthy Gurney. With a programme of summer fun days on the lawn, and free admission, The Castle is open daily from 10am!
A RURAL RETREAT
Old Lanwarnick Cottages
At Old Lanwarnick, you will find a selection of luxury cottages set in 34 acres of idyllic Cornish countryside, yet just four miles from the beach, with the popular destinations such as Looe and Fowey just a short drive away. The cottages are well-equipped with all the home-from-home comforts. On-site facilities include EV Chargers, hot tubs, a gym, lovely woodland walks, secure dog fields, a dog agility course and, for the little ones, an outdoor play area and fairy trail. This is a perfect place to relax and unwind with your loved ones.

FUN FOR EVERYONE
Royal Cornwall Museum
Bursting with buttons, levers, moving parts, and family fun, Royal Cornwall Museum’s latest exhibition isn’t one to be missed. The Marvellous Mechanical Museum showcases automata (mechanical works of art) that explore the weird, wonderful, comical and quirky. The exhibition runs through May half term, where children will have the chance to make their very own automata. Royal Cornwall Museum is free for under 18s and £7.50 for adults for an annual pass, while children’s activities are also free.
