Dogs Love Cornwall Living

Four-legged welcome in Falmouth

A coastal escape where dogs are part of the experience.

St Michaels Resort in Falmouth has long been known for its laid-back comfort and prime location by Gyllyngvase beach. But for those travelling with a four-legged companion, it also offers something else – a genuine, all-encompassing welcome. One that isn’t an afterthought designed as a bolt-on to attract more guests.

Dogs are treated with consideration and thought throughout the resort. Dedicated dog-friendly rooms are available year-round, each equipped with a soft bed, water bowl and treats. Interiors reflect the calm, clean lines of coastal Cornwall – light, spacious and restful. From these rooms, it’s a short stroll to the beach and South West Coast Path, where dogs can roam on-lead or off, depending on the season and local guidelines.

There’s no need to leave your dog behind while you dine either. In Nourish, the resort’s relaxed bar and kitchen, dogs are welcome to sit beside their owners, under tables topped with colourful plates of locally sourced dishes.

After a long walk or a morning swim, it’s an easy place to refuel. Guests are also free to take their dogs to the bar area, where a cocktail or cold beer is often the end to a day well spent outdoors.

Those seeking a moment of stillness can head to the resort’s Spa Deck, where a sea-facing hot tub, barrel sauna and cold plunge await, while their dog rests in the room after a day of coastal adventures.

Dogs are welcomed without fuss. Rooms are ready, staff are accommodating and there’s space for them at the table. Everything is straightforward, making it easy to relax. One guest summed it up simply: “St Michaels was very welcoming and made our dog feel so included as part of our stay.”
