£5,500 raised by Stein’s for fellow St Petrocs!
Last year, Rick and Jill Stein’s team at St Petroc’s Bistro, Padstow, raised an incredible £5,500 for Truro based charity, St Petrocs. Offering a special three-course menu for just £15.95 plus a £2 donation direct to St Petrocs, the funds raised by the bistro promise to go a long way towards supporting this incredible charity, which works tirelessly to end street homelessness in Cornwall.
It cannot be overstated just how much this donation means to St Petrocs, especially at this time of year. As Lois Wild, who works with the charity, puts it: “Winter is an incredibly difficult time for people when they don’t have a place to call home and are facing a night on the streets. This support will help us going forward with our winter services and our winter night shelters.”
“A sincere thank you,” Lois finishes, “from one St Petrocs to another!”

Wind down with North Coast Wine Warehouse and Lounge
Nestled within Bude’s high street on Cornwall’s striking north coast, you’ll find North Coast Wine Warehouse and Lounge. Serving coffee by day and wine and cocktails by night, the lounge is the perfect place to relax. The owners’ passion for the beverage industry shines through and they’re more than happy to provide recommendations on the ideal tipple to accompany a meal. Whether it’s a full-bodied red wine with a beef stew, a crisp white with a fresh fish dish, or an after-dinner G&T, they love sharing their knowledge with customers.
Luckily, North Coast Wines stocks its wonderful selection of beverages ready to sell, so once you discover your favourite tipple you can buy a bottle to take home. This includes wines, gins and even local beer and ales. Introducing Cornwall’s first CBD High Tea
The Duchy’s first CBD High Tea has arrived at grown-up getaway, Merchants Manor, where surfer-chef Hylton Espey has devised an alternative take on what he calls the “rather dull ‘cakes, scones and bottomless prosecco’ routine.”
The lighter afternoon tea experience features sparkling tea and CBD cocktails and a tempting selection of nutritious, light and bread-free savoury snacks, and is designed to detox and rebalance following the festive season. Unlike the classic afternoon tea, High Tea features a low-carb, low-alcohol offering that instead focuses on the use of nutritious and detoxifying ingredients.
Interested? If so, why not book yourself in for an indulgent spa day and sample for yourself Hylton’s all-new take on one of the UK’s favourite foodie traditions.
