New Head Chef at the Lemon Arms
With more than 20 years’ experience of running Cornish pubs and restaurants, Jonny and Sam Pearce, managers of the Lemon Arms at Mylor Bridge, have created the perfect pit stop for those exploring the local waterways. But it’s not just a well-stocked bar and a dog-friendly beer garden that make this a ‘must-visit’ while you’re in the area.
If you’re feeling peckish then you’ll be pleased to know that new Head Chef, Freddie, brings a delightful blend of seasonal Cornish flavours to the menu, infusing it with his passion for Cornwall’s bountiful produce. The specials board is always a surprise too, since you can never predict what the local day boats are going to land!

Rebellion from coast to coast
With two restaurants, one based on Cornwall’s north coast in Newquay and the other on the south coast near St Austell, it’s possible to join the Rebellion Roasthouse & Moonshine Bar wherever you happen to be in Cornwall. Serving coffee by day, Rebellion transforms into a restaurant and bar by night, bringing heady flavour combinations that will leave you feeling full and completely satisfied.
Inspired by the era of prohibition in America, Rebellion provides a daring marriage of smokehouse flavours with a potent mixture of Cornish Moonshine. “At Rebellion, we’ve created a menu that’s a bit different from the norm,” says owners Sallie and Simon Duggan. The restaurant is filled with wooden tables creating a relaxed atmosphere. Catering to grown-ups and little rebels alike, Rebellion provides mouth watering meals with an innovative use of flavour. Here at Cornwall Living we like the sound of the slow roasted brisket served with onion rings and a horseradish and sour cream sauce.
As well as creating an incredible menu with an exceptional twist of flavours, Rebellion also serves award-winning cocktails such as the Moonshine Mary or, for those with a sweet tooth, the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. All food is served by a team of friendly staff and the restaurant, though rebellious, is very accommodating and family friendly. So, if you want to discover the fiery flavours of Rebellion Roasthouse then make sure to book a table and secure your place in the food rebellion.

Situated above the beautiful cove of Swanpool in Falmouth, Hooked on the Rocks brings you the very best seafood that Cornwall’s shores have to offer. Head Chef George Morgan has created a menu inspired by Cornwall’s rugged coastline, cooking with the seasons and maintaining a hands-on approach to food – baking his own breads, churning ice creams and pickling and preserving vegetables. George tells us: “We’re lucky enough to source our seafood direct from fishermen, even our crabs and lobsters are caught no more than eight miles away from the restaurant and kept in our tank for the customers to choose.” Open all year, with opening hours changing in October from Thursday to Sunday, Hooked on the Rocks should be on everyone’s foodie itinerary.
