Walking through the arches and into the grounds of Tremaine Green Cottages, you instantly feel an air of peace. The period Cornish cottages set within a traditional farmyard provide escape from the outside world and all are made from mellow Cornish stone, constructed from granite and blue Delabole slate, once mined at a nearby quarry.
The tranquil surroundings of Tremaine are enriched by an abundance of trees and hedgerows, which safely encapsulate the well-established, award-winning gardens. Being safely set away from main roads, the grounds are perfect for children to explore and play without the worry of traffic. There are also many different animals onsite to get chummy with, including Pygmy goats, miniature horses, and a super friendly Great Dane. If this isn’t enough to keep the family entertained, there is also a tennis court if you are up for a set.
Situated in the perfect location to explore south Cornwall’s enchanting coves, this stretch of coastline is protected by the National Trust and is fondly known as the ‘smugglers’ coast’, steeped in tales of piracy and bootlegging from ages past. Tremaine Green’s closest cove, Lansallos, is just 2.5 miles away and was described by BBC’s Coast as “the quintessential Cornish smuggler’s cove”. Who knows, you might even stumble across some long-lost treasure!
The neighbouring towns of Fowey and Looe are nearby, offering exceptional restaurants, bars and artisan shops to explore.
After a busy day traversing south Cornwall’s secret coastal coves, shimmering waters and idyllic fishing harbours, you can look forward to returning to the cosiness of your holiday cottage. Nothing beats watching the Cornish sunset from the patio with a glass of something chilled. However, if it’s a cool evening, you could always snuggle down in front of the comforting glow of the fire.

There’s also the option to rent multiple cottages, perfect for larger families or that special family celebration.
