As autumn once again returns and we get cosy by the fire, we learn about an exciting year for Wendron Stoves.

As we discover, it has been a busy 12 months for the team at Wendron Stoves, the inspiring Cornish business based in Helston, established over 30 years ago. We catch up with Hollie Edgcombe from the award-winning company, who tells us all about it.

“Quite a lot has happened this year, which has been fantastic,” says Hollie. “We haven’t had a summer so busy!”

One of the biggest developments was the recent announcement of Wendron Stoves as the exclusive retailer in Cornwall for Focus. Focus produces stunning and highly contemporary ‘floating’ fireplaces that are suspended elegantly from the ceiling. It’s no exaggeration to say that these awe-inspiring pieces are true works of art in themselves, adding a real statement to the most chic and stylish of homes.

“They chose us, which was fantastic!”, says Hollie.

“Our standards are very high and we don’t just sell anything and everything. We select the stoves that we want to sell based on how they are made, how they look, what we think our customers will like and what stands out.”

In many ways, these values make Wendron Stoves the perfect fit for the Focus brand. Indeed, they find themselves in good company – Focus has even had some of its designs exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Bordeaux, Grenoble and Stockholm, as well as the Guggenheim in New York!

Another major scoop for the Cornish company was becoming ‘Dealer of the Year 2017/2018’ for Everhot Range Cookers. This in itself is a considerable achievement, as Wendron Stoves only opened its Truro store around 12 months ago.

“Of course, in today’s climate, having a showroom in the high street is considered a risk,” says Hollie. “However, people buy people, and people buy service, and service is what we pride ourselves on, so it was one of the best decisions for us. Everhot is a well-respected brand and we were delighted to received this award!”

As well as its Truro store, Wendron Stoves has its flagship showroom in Helston, with a huge range of woodburning stoves, fire surrounds, range cookers, cookware and accessories.
