With new government regulations demanding that wood-burning stoves meet the latest, stringent eco-design, we learned with interest about a new stove that is combining a traditional wood burn with environmentally friendly heating from wood pellets. The Aduro Hybrid range offers the timeless good looks of a wood-burning flame, combining them with a vastly more controllable heat source from an integral pellet burner. If you want to use the stove with firewood, by all means! Simply add wood as with a normal stove and the Aduro Hybrid will automatically shut off the pellet function. If you require more controllable heat, then you can simply fire up the pellet burner. It’s that simple.

The look is Nordic contemporary with a modern cylindrical body and stainless steel handles. But these stoves have far more to offer than visual appeal. The Aduro Hybrid reduces emissions significantly compared to conventional wood-burning stoves: with the pellet function, the CO emission is reduced by 97%, the OGC emission by 91%, and the dust emission by 59%. While the pellet function is active you have a stove that can safely and happily run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will stay in overnight and with the addition of a very clever mobile app, you can even turn the stove on from your smart phone so that the house is warm when you arrive home.

Imagine it… gone are those chilly mornings when you come down to get ready for work and school and the stove’s gone out. Simply set the timer before bed and the stove will offer you a lovely warm welcome each day. Similarly, if the weather takes a turn for the worse while you are out, light it from the app on your phone and there’ll be no more getting home from work to a cold, dark house. The app will also allow you to regulate the temperature and keep a track on the combustion once the stove is alight. Aduro currently has more than 7,000 stoves registered via the app, where they are tracking more than 4,000 stoves operating every day.

Aduro Hybrid stoves are great for heating large spaces and, as they comply with the necessary regulations, they can also be used to heat conservatories. Such is its innovation that in 2018 the Danish company Aduro A/S was awarded the prestigious European Business Award for the Environment on a national level in the category ‘Sustainable Products and Services’.
