What do you love most about playing rugby for the Chiefs?
“Well, obviously I just love playing rugby, and it’s so close to home, so my family can come and watch me. I’ve been here a long time; I’ve made great friends and just love playing with the boys! Sometimes, it’s like it was at school, with my mates.”

What do you love most about Devon?
“I’ve never really been a big city guy… most of my family are all farmers, so I’ve grown up helping out. Exeter is a big enough city, but also you don’t have to travel far to not see anyone, and enjoy the quiet life.”
What’s your favourite beach?
“My favourite beach would be Bantham beach. When I was a kid I used to play in the sand dunes, and go round the corner to Bigbury on the big tractor – I loved it!”
“Jack in the Green, and when I’m home, I love The Ship in Noss Mayo – it has great food and it’s overlooking the water.”
Favourite place to visit in Devon?
“Where my parents live now – I moved there when I was 15, Yealmpton, Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo.”
How do you unwind in your time out of training or playing?
“I have a dog, Frank, so any free time I have, I take him for a walk. There are quite a few of us with dogs, so we have an Exeter Chiefs dog-walking group!
In the summer, I love playing a bit of golf, and any other time, just chilling out with the boys.”
Most important question last… jam or cream first on a cream tea?
“Cream first… always! I don’t actually eat them but it would definitely be cream first – the Devon way!”
The home of the Chiefs is Sandy Park, an award-winning conference, banqueting and events centre, complete with state-of-the-art suites for business meetings and entertaining.
