Merry and bright

As the seasons change from the warm glow of autumn to the crisp white frost of winter, many of us are preparing our homes for the festive season, and much like the hanging of a favourite bauble on the tree, or a string of glinting fairy lights on the bookcases in our living rooms, The Grey Lurcher is adorning it shelves with inspiring gifts and the most joyful Christmas décor.

In 2017 Julie Oats, Owner and Founder of The Grey Lurcher, set up shop at the very top of the Falmouth High Street, amongst the hidden courtyards and eclectic independent shops that the town is known for. Today, the shop can be found more centrally at number 20, and Julie has set to work filling it with some truly unique homeware brands, including Grand Illusions, Parlane, and Bloomingville, to name a few. With French soaps, candles, cards, artworks and the iconic Annie Sloan paints on offer amongst a multitude of other delights, it’s no wonder that The Grey Lurcher’s popularity in the town has blossomed over the past few years.

New in this season are the amazing limited edition digitally printed silk scarves from Diana Wilson, designed to add a little touch of luxury to any outfit and as charming to the senses as they are to the eyes, a perfect gift this Christmas season. The need for candlelit evenings draw closer as the evenings darken, and The Grey Lurcher has just the thing to prepare you for intimate afternoons in the warmth of your home. Julie is delighted to now stock the St Mawes Scent Room Candles and Reed Diffusers, hand-made in small batches for a premium quality scent that will add a real sense of comfort to any home.

When it comes to the Christmas decorations that invite us to take a closer look as we search for the next addition to our Christmas tree collection, The Grey Lurcher isn’t one to disappoint, with a particularly festive Latin Quarter theme to bring a little colour and zest to your holiday season. If you find yourself wandering Falmouth High Street in high spirits and good cheer as you shop for the perfect present this Christmas, make sure to pay a visit to The Grey Lurcher for something entirely unique.
