New degree-level courses at Truro & Penwith College

Five brand new degree level courses have been added to Truro and Penwith College’s TEF Gold rated University level provision for September 2020.

The College is still accepting applications via UCAS for September and the new courses will see it’s University offer increase to 47 courses across 11 different subject areas.

The new courses include the two-year FdA Craft Design Maker, for those with ambitions of becoming a professional Designer Maker in ceramics, textiles, metalwork and other craft, and can be topped up into a full Honours Degree with the BA (Hons) Craft and Design, also new for September 2020. Both courses will help students develop their own creative identity as well as the skills needed to start their independent business in the sector.

In addition, FdA Teaching and Learning, also new for 2020, supports students embarking on their careers as Primary School Teachers. Developed with top-tier education professionals, the course includes extensive work placement hours with only one day per week in the College, providing vital hands on experience within primary schools to enhance CV’s and help find work on completion.

HNC and HND Mechanical Engineering has also been introduced, adding a brand-new subject area to the College’s University level provision. The course offers students a higher-level knowledge of the basic concepts of engineering including design, CAD skills and workshop practices. Designed for Industry, graduates from the course can go on to enter a variety of Engineer roles.
