From tiny acorns
Having recently welcomed two brand new Administrators to post – Richie Cawley as Programming Administrator, and Amanda Forde as Office Administrator – The Acorn Theatre in Penzance continues to go from strength to strength.
Richie, who has already managed the Acorn bar for six years, now manages all programme related responsibilities, from booking artists and performers to promoting them, while Amanda looks after the office administration, as well as communications and marketing. She also co-ordinates Acorn’s friendly team of volunteers and is currently in the process of re-launching the Acorn Friends Scheme, so watch this space!
This year, 165 acts are already programmed, including comedian Henning Wehn on 19th May. What’s more, the theatre is undergoing refurbishment, the Cabaret Bar already enjoying a new look. The goal is to continue bringing brilliant acts at affordable prices to Penzance, inviting everyone to join in and enjoy what the Acorn has to offer.
