View the Cornish coast as you’ve never seen it before, from a tailor-made private charter.
Launched in 2019, August Rock Adventures takes thrill seekers, ocean adventurers and nature lovers out across Cornwall’s stunning waters. Your trip will be on the seven-metre Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), Harbinger, powered by a Mercury Verado Supercharged 200HP outboard engine, reaching exhilarating top speeds of 35 knots (about 40 mph) and with a range of 150 miles. This range allows trips of two hours or more, meaning guests get to reach some excellent, out-of-the-way snorkelling and swimming spots. The boat is hired for exclusive use by your family or group of up to six people and we can think of nothing better than being skippered across one of Cornwall’s stunning bays before anchoring off the beach for a sunbathe and then a swim ashore for a cooling ice cream or a decadent cream tea.
Harbinger takes guests on tailor-made trips along Cornwall’s south coast. As each trip is bespoke to the booking, you can choose where you would like to go – weather permitting of course. Favourites include exploring the coves and beaches around the Lizard peninsula or searching for seals, dolphins, and minke whales. And in spring, you may be lucky enough to encounter a basking shark up to 20 miles offshore. Trips start from Helford Passage on the Helford River, from where it’s only a short cruise to explore Falmouth harbour and the surrounding bays.
There really is no better way to enjoy Cornwall than from a boat. You can leave all of your cares behind, as well as your car and the crowds, and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Cornish coast from a different angle. Who knows, if the conditions are suitable then you could even try your hand at being the captain, driving the RIB in the tranquil waters of Falmouth Bay or the Helford River.
August Rock Adventures operates the only Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) licenced RIB along the south west Cornish coast that is dedicated solely to single group adventures.
