On the horizon…
David Hill – Steel Art
At 76, a retired hydraulic mechanical engineer from Mevagissey has discovered a new creative passion – structural art. Working with precision-cut 304 stainless steel, he crafts elegant sculptures inspired by Alfaro, Sempere, Gabo and Meyer. His designs, for which he accepts bespoke commissions, are rooted in the Fibonacci Sequence and Golden Ratio, take form under shifting light. Named after ancient gods, his current works – Nike, Hermes and Icarus – stand at 600mm, with Nike’s wings appearing to transform as you move around it.
