Open weekend

Kernow Fires announces an open weekend on 5th and 6th May at the Wadebridge showroom.

We often note how a fireplace can act as a real centrepiece of the home, perhaps harking back to that ancient notion of fire as a source of energy and warmth – a communal focal point that brings people together. So it’s fitting that Kernow Fires has announced an open weekend at its flagship Wadebridge showroom, inviting the public in to share the warmth and discover the scope of products on offer.

“Come armed with questions and be prepared to be amazed.”

On 5th and 6th May, Kernow Fires opens its doors for a bumper weekend that includes live cookery demonstrations, expert advice, food and drink, and even a free raffle draw! Over 100 fires and stoves will be on display, from small independent producers to top designer brands.

If you are thinking of installing a range cooker, or perhaps replacing your existing Aga for an alternative solution, then you’ll no doubt want to attend one of the Everhot demos, on Saturday at 11am and 2pm. Led by professional chef and range cooker expert, David Pengelly, these sessions are likely to prove popular so you’ll need to book your place in advance. With over 20 years’ experience as a chef and demonstrator, he’s the man to speak to, to compare ranges, models and brands. So come armed with questions and be prepared to be amazed.

MEET THE EXPERTS

Hwam, producer of chic contemporary woodburnig stoves, is bringing one of the first ‘Smart Stoves’ on the market, controlled from iPad or phone. This eco-ready woodburner is released way ahead of the new efficiency regulations set to come in 2020.  A representative will be on hand to answer any questions.

The experts will be on hand to advise, showcasing the new eco-friendly, future-proofed ‘Smart Stove’, which not only reduces running costs, but also can be controlled via an app – great for green heating, while following the growing trend of increased home automation.

Then, of course, there’s the Kernow Fires team, waiting to take your questions, headed up by Managing Director Simon, resident expert on specialised projects that need some extra thought. Simon is great at conceptual visualisation, helping you turn your ideas into something concrete.

Simon is joined by Installation Manager Ross. We’re told there’s nothing he doesn’t know about installing fires, and he is particularly experienced with ultra contemporary feature walls and fireplaces – perfect if you’re looking to make a real statement in the home.

Graham, meanwhile, is the Head Surveyor. Bring photos or details of your living space and he can run through suitable option for your specific needs. Shop staff will be on hand to answer any questions and guide you round the showroom.

Warren is known as the ‘Problemsolver’ – he can get to the bottom of any issues with your existing stove, whether it has a black or cloudy screen, is very noisy, or is otherwise not running efficiently. Warren will be running trouble-shooting workshops throughout the day.

Jamie from sister company Kernow Metals will also be in attendance to show you round the workshop and discuss bespoke ironwork – that’s anything from staircases to gates, furniture to fire accessories, log stacks and boot racks. You describe it, he’ll make it!

To ensure you have enough time with the right expert, the Kernow Fires team ask to please give them a call in advance and book an appointment.

Go and enjoy some food and drink, soaking up the warm, relaxed atmosphere. Finally, if all of this alone wasn’t enough, everyone who visits will receive a free raffle ticket, with a chance of winning five, ten or fifteen bags of kiln-dried logs. Now that’s a warming feeling!

So, if you are looking to make some improvements to you home and need some expert advice, why not pop along to the open weekend, get the ideas flowing and speak to the experts.
