Pushing back the tide of plastic waste

A Marine Conservation Society beach clean

With hundreds of species accidentally eating or becoming entangled in, amongst other things, plastic and fishing line, the Marine Conservation Society’s Beachwatch programme encourages people around the UK to take part in an important citizen science project, collecting valuable litter data and caring for their coastline. So, how can you do your bit? The Marine Conservation Society organises hundreds of beach cleans around the UK, so chances are there’ll be one taking place near you that you can join. Alternatively, if you know of a beach that could use some TLC, it couldn’t be easier to organise your own. To find out more, head to the Marine Conservation Society website where you’ll find everything you need to join the fight against ocean litter.
