We catch up with Colin, owner of Collington and Company, who tells us about an impressive year so far.

Helston-based Collington & Co, an independent, family run business, can assist on any home project, whether you need the team to install based on your plans, or require their input throughout the design and planning process. To demonstrate this, we catch up company owner, Colin, who talks us through just some of the projects the team have completed this year.

We proposed an idea for the design and were an integral part of the planning and building process”

“Earlier this year, we turned a shed into a garden sunroom. The brief from the client was to create a versatile space that could be used as an addition to their existing home. We proposed an idea for the design and were an integral part of the planning and building process.” Impressively, the sunroom features a climate controlled glass roof from Ultra Frame, alongside grey uPVC frames with aluminium reinforcing and high-security locking mechanisms. To complete the sunroom, it was finished with cream cladding by R&R Fascias, which perfectly complements the grey frames.

Another recent project saw the Collingtons team designing plans to extend a window into a beautiful bay window seat with sliding patio doors. To achieve this, Colin tells us: “The fitting team created a timber ledge outside the existing windows and built up to create the bay space. The new opening was filled with one large two-part sliding patio door and two large fixed windows.” The doors on this installation were made to measure with white, steel-reinforced uPVC frames with an easy-glide track and a high-performance multi-point locking system.

Perhaps the most impressive project so far this year is the floor-to-ceiling glass wall that Collingtons were asked to supply. “We presented the client with plans for one four-part sliding patio door and four shaped, fixed windows.”

Again, the frames were made up of white, steel-reinforced uPVC within an easy glide track for the four-part patio door, to slide along a high performance multi-point locking system. “The doors and the shaped frames were made to measure, creating a bespoke and individual finish to the client’s extension.”

Unsurprisingly, this fantastic Cornish firm recently became a member of the Buy With Confidence scheme, initiated by Cornwall Council, members of which adhere to the highest of standards across all aspects of business. So, if your home improvement project could use the insight of an expert team with more than 40 years’ experience in the industry, we definitely recommend contacting the team at Collington & Co!
