Delightfully positioned on the harbourside in Porthleven, Customs House Loft is housed in a Grade II listed building that dates back to the 1840s. The village itself is a fantastic base from which to explore the south Cornish coast, but only if you can pull yourself away from its exceptional foodie scene. There’s also a wealth of fantastic independent businesses offering a whole array quality, artisan produce. The small doorway up to the apartment belies what hides behind, and as you make your way up the stairway, you’ll soon discover why. The apartment sleeps four, is bright and spacious and has been carefully designed and decorated with marine-inspired tones that complement its very coastal location.

The two bedrooms, which each have en suites, offer an oasis of calm, with the addition of White Company towels and bedding and an Atlantic blanket carefully folded at the end of each bed. Into the living/dining area and you’ll find plenty of space in which to wind down after a long day spent exploring. Large windows beautifully frame the view over the harbour and behind them, two comfortable chairs are in prime position to open the window, sit back and enjoy a balmy summer’s evening over a glass of something cold.

Binoculars are also provided, perfect for spotting dolphins on the coast during the summer, and storm watching in winter. What’s more, your four-legged friend is more than welcome and will even get their very own basket of blankets. The best part is that on arrival, you’ll be greeted with a freshly baked Cornish cream tea courtesy of your charming host Louise, a lovely way to set the tone for your Cornish escape.
