Quench your thirst with Cornish Rock Gin

Thanks to the growing range of distilled delights from Cornish Rock Gin, you are never far away from delicious rum and gin in Cornwall.

While there are a number of businesses that brew and batch their own beverages around the Duchy, we’re not sure any are quite as busy as Cornish Rock Gin. The artisan gin and rum company which specialise in meticulously testing and hand bottling its craft spirits has successfully moved into a brand-new distillery and bottling plant in Wadebridge. Here, you can explore the shop full of fantastic flavours and even visit the tasting station to sample the team’s wares before you buy. Up for grabs in the Wadebridge shop is a variety of produce, including features from when the company first began, like the original still, Bonanza Boy, named after Founders Angie and George Malde’s favourite racehorse. As ever, they have a team of friendly and knowledgeable sales advisors on hand to help you find the best gin and rum to suit your taste. To ensure your trip is hassle-free, there is also plenty of parking right outside the shop.

Not only have the Cornish Rock Gin team moved into a larger distillery, they have also been busy opening two brand new shops, so you can now buy your favourite flavours from both Tintagel and Bude. The shop in Bude even launched its latest gin, Live the Dream, a charming dry gin that is both herbal and citrussy, balancing the flavour of rosemary with the pizzazz of lemon and orange. This was proudly done in conjunction with registered charity Marie Curie and ensures that a donation from every bottle sold goes towards the fantastic cause to help with the amazing work they do every day. Cornish Rock Gin was honoured to host Lynda Thomas, the Community fundraiser for Marie Curie, and Rachael Sundry, the team’s very own regional Marie Curie nurse for the launch of Live the Dream. Each new product is tested and tasted by locals before being hand-bottled and receiving the official stamp of approval. By following this process for every bottle that leaves the distillery, the team is able to ensure that by the time it reaches you, it is as close to perfect as a drink could be.

Their Tintagel shop, meanwhile, is so busy that a unique Camelot collection of gins and rums was made especially for this location! These boxed gin and rum gift sets in the Camelot collection make brilliant Cornish presents for those who enjoy a tasty tipple. The gins consist of Sir Galahad Classic Gin, Sir Lancelot of the Bluewater, Pendragon Pink and Merlins Magic Marmalade, while the rums include Camelot Coconut Paradise, The Holy Grail, Vanilla Knights and Sir Percival Perfect Plum. All of the gin and rum is made with passion and a lot of fun before being cut with pure Cornish spring water, striving for originality in every gin made with finely sourced local ingredients.

If moving distillery and opening two new shops weren’t enough for Cornish Rock Gin, the team are launching three new rums in October. Firstly, because it was highly requested, is the True Taste, a 57% full Navy strength rum to accompany the range of 37.5% rums. All of the rums are smooth and to be enjoyed neat or over ice and this navy strength is no exception. To bring out the flavour even more simply, add a teaspoonful of lukewarm water. The second flavour is the Banana Blast, which speaks for itself. Full of sun-ripened bananas, incorporate this fruity flavour in a creative cocktail or enjoy by itself. Lastly is the release of the Rhubarb and Ginger Twist, a classic flavour combination that always proves popular. In this rum, the sharpness of the rhubarb turns to a sweet lingering taste with a real hint of ginger.

Cornish Rock Gin has other outlets in Land’s End, St Michael’s Mount, Padstow and many other locations around north Cornwall, so you are never too far away from delicious gin in a range of flavours! If you are looking for a Cornish gift or just a fantastic selection of tipples for yourself, don’t hesitate to go and try the range.
